August 25th is Wear It Purple Day!
Wear It Purple Day is an international movement celebrated each year on the last Friday in August. Throw on your favourite purple shirt, socks, pants, hat, or onesie to show your pride, allyship, or support for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and the issues they face!
Founded in 2010 in response to young people taking their lives as a result of discrimination and bullying, Wear It Purple Day was founded to encourage young queer people to feel proud to be who they are.
Wear It Purple is an Australian non-profit organisation that provides resources for LGBTQIA+ groups, foundations, and schools, providing safe environments and opportunities for young rainbow people.
