Lord Somers Camp has a new kind of program called the Lord Somers Roadie.
Roadie sees trained Lord Somers Activity Staff bring their skills and energy into schools across Melbourne. This program has been developed in response to the ongoing limitations posed by the pandemic with more and more students unable to attend the campsite. This adapted program allows the Somers Team to take the camp spirit and fun directly to schools, making the camp experience far more accessible to student groups in the current world climate.
Mordialloc College is the destination this week and the team are stoked to be there. Last year, their camp aimed at addressing mental health in young adults was cancelled due to the July lockdown. The Somers Staff are excited to finally be working with them in this capacity again to deliver a tailored program that was developed with great devotion and passion. This visit has added momentum for the program, and we look forward to seeing Roadie reach plenty more Victorian schools in the future.
