Positive Ageing Programs

Lord Somers Camp and Power House runs four programs focused on inter-generational connections and continued inclusion of people as they get older. These programs recognise mature-age people as positive contributors and assets of our organisation and the community. The various activities that make up our programs create important opportunities for social inclusion and preventative health and wellbeing.

Quarterly Connections

Program: The bi-annual lunches give all members the opportunity to meet and enjoy good food, fun and fellowship - and a great way top catch up with old friends and stay in touch with us. The lunches are held in various locations and cater for up to 150 people.

Participants: Members and friends of LSC&PH

Time/Schedule: Wednesday 6th June, 2018 at 11.30am for a 12pm start

Price:  Price includes two-course meal and beverages

$45 per person full price

$40 per person Concession/Over 60/Students

Oldies Camp

The Program: Promoting positive aging, we run a program for gentlemen over the age of 55 years. Oldies camp is a leisurely weekend full of activities, light-hearted entertainment and laughter aimed at supporting connections for our ‘young at heart’ members.

Participants: Gents over 55 years

Goldies Camp

Program: Promoting positive aging, we run a program for ladies over the age of 50 years. Goldies camp is a leisurely weekend full of activities, light-hearted entertainment and laughter aimed at supporting connections for our ‘young at heart’ members.

Participants: Ladies over 50 years.

Time/Schedule:  13th - 15th April, 2018

Power House Archives Group

Program: Our Archives team meets weekly to capture and restore the cultural and physical heritage of LSC&PH.  Activities Include managing the selection of non-current records for physical preservation and storage, along  with the documentation, recording and retrieval of material.They give life to our past and maintain our history for all generations to enjoy.

Participants: Currently a dedicated group of retirees

Time/Schedule: All year round
