Our Governance

Good corporate governance is vital for a financially sustainable and responsible not-for-profit organisation. We are a public company limited by guarantee and there are a number of structures, practices and committees which provide an appropriate framework for good governance.

LSC&PH’s Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of LSC&PH.

Lord Somers Camp and Power House is governed by a skills-based Board, responsible for strategic planning and long-term policy setting. Board members volunteer their time to ensure organisational compliance and performance management and oversee the strategic direction of the organisation. The board meets regularly (10 times per year) as a full group as well contributing to our board subcommittees.

Current board members are:

Cath Dillon (chair)

B.Ed., M.Ed., G Dip. Ed Stud., MACEL, MAICD

Cath is the Deputy Director at Catholic Education Sandhurst. Previously Cath served as Principal at Mount St Joseph Girls’ College and was a Mathematics and English secondary teacher.

Cath was a yellow grouper at the very first Lady Somers Camp in 1986 and has since held numerous positions within the organisation including a previous period of service on the Board and as Slushee Queen. Cath is also a director of Somers Landholding Pty Ltd.

Ross Boyce


Ross currently works as the Chief Financial Officer for a small Australian owned company servicing the industrial packaging industry. Prior to this Ross was the Australian head of finance of a large multinational company in the printing and health care industries.

Ross joined LSC&PH in 1991 attended big camp of that year in staff, becoming a board member in 2012 and has been head of the LSC&PH Finance Committee. Ross is also a director of Somers Landholding Pty Ltd.

Stuart Douglas

BAppSc (Medical Radiations), Master of Marketing, GAICD

Stuart has worked in healthcare for over 25 years since qualifying as a Medical Imaging Technologist in the late 1980's. Most of his time however has been in sales, marketing and management roles within the medical device and capital equipment arenas. Stuart is currently the Managing Director for the Straumann Group Australia and New Zealand.

An active member of LSC&PH since 1985, Stuart has held a variety of volunteer positions within the organisation throughout this time. Stuart joined the board in November 2014 and is the Chair of the LSC&PH Marketing and Fundraising Committee.

Marnie Lassen


Marnie is the Strategic Projects Manager at the Victorian conservation organisation Trust for Nature, and also serves as School Council President at her children’s 5-star sustainable school. Before moving into conservation, Marnie worked as a lawyer in both Melbourne and Los Angeles.

Marnie has been an active member of LSC&PH since 1986, attending the first Lady Somers Camp as the Camp Leader’s runner. She joined the Board in 2014 and is a member of LSC&PH’s Environment & Sustainability Committee. Marnie is also a Director of Somers Landholding Pty Ltd.

John Hutchinson

BA/BEng (Hons)

John has been working in the Environmental Sustainability field for over 17 years. He currently works two jobs: at Ironbark Sustainability where he helps local governments to develop strategies and implement projects to reduce energy, water and waste; and at Intelligent Pathways where he assists commercial and government clients to measure, monitor and reduce their environmental impacts.

John has been involved in LSC&PH from an early age due to his parent's involvement. Attending Big Camp in 1987 and joining the board in 2008, John is also the Chair of the Programs and Activities Committee and a member of the LSC&PH Risk Committee.

Georgie Birch

Georgie holds a Bachelor of Planning & Design from the University of Melbourne and is currently at Stonnington Council managing the Council’s interests in relation to the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project and the South Yarra Station upgrade. Previously, Georgie worked in State Government and in private consultancy, including serving as a Ministerial Adviser and as a Victorian Planning Panels member.

An active member since attending Lady Somers Camp in 1991, Georgie has held many leadership positions within the organisation, and has been a member of the Albert Park Advisory Group since 2015. Georgie was appointed to the LSC&PH Board in 2017.
