Roger Devine, our beloved Programs and Activities Committee chairperson has indicated he will be stepping down from the board at November’s AGM, following a promotion at his workplace that will require significant increase in attending evening and weekend school events. During his time on the board Roger has been responsible for the Programs and Activities portfolio where his focus has been to support this team to run the many wonderful camps and programs. He commends all members on the amazing contributions that they make, together with the support of the office, in particular that of Fiona and Alex who have been critical conduits to the PandA team. He will be handing over the responsibility to Kristen Hammond (Light Blue 1989) was appointed to the Board in July 2023, and will step into Roger’s current Board portfolio as Chair of the Program and Activities Committee following the Annual General Meeting. Kristen has had a varied LSC&PH journey including: nine years on the executive team of Lady Somers Camp, three of those as Camp Leader; acting Camp Leader for ATLAS 2023A; co-Camp Leader of Easter Camp for several years; and co-Staff Coordinator of Mirabel Camp. In her day job, Kristen works for Wiley University Services as Director of Academic Services, leading a Learning Design team, and is passionate about leadership development, mentoring and quality online learning. With support from Aaron (Yellow, 1988), Maisy (Dark Blue, 2019), and Olive (Red, 2022), Kristen hopes to bring her professional skills in project management, communication, leadership, development and training, together with her LSC&PH experience to help our organisation capitalise on opportunities and face challenges with a focus on sustainability, integrity, personal and leadership development, and service.
