On Thursday 3rd February I had the pleasure of attending Government House in the company of our wonderful Camp Chief, Cath Dillon.
We were invited to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth by the Honourable Lina Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria and our Patron.
The evening commenced with a welcoming address by the Governor, followed by renditions of Advance Australia Fair and God Save the Queen. This was quite a moving experience given the surroundings and well- known attendees including past Governors of Victoria.
We were then invited to explore some incredible rooms within the residence. The rooms were lined with jaw dropping Victorian memorabilia, we even manged to locate the portraits of Lord & Lady Somers and snagged a quick selfie!
I was very humbled to mingle amongst such dignified guests, meet the Governor herself and celebrate Her Majesties Platinum Jubilee.
I would just like to say thank you to Cath Dillon for this wonderful opportunity, I felt extremely proud to represent the organisation and look forward to many years of service to come.
