VSK @ Somers

In partnership with the Very Special Kids, this twice-yearly weekend program gives children living with life threatening illnesses, and their families, a weekend away. Kids get an opportunity to just be kids while their parents and carers are connected to others in similar situations and also enjoy the opportunity for respite.

Positive Ageing

Lord Somers Camp and Power House runs four programs focused on inter-generational connections and continued inclusion of people as they get older. These programs recognise mature-age people as positive contributors and assets of our organisation and the community. The various activities that make up our programs create important opportunities for social inclusion and preventative health and wellbeing.

Power House Youth Leadership Foundation

Power House Youth Leadership Foundation provides funding to LSC&PH to support the continuing enhancement of the leadership development and community programs. The Foundation’s aim is to ensure that cost is not a deterrent to participation in a leadership camp or community weekend for any young man or woman who has talent and aspirations and wants to develop their personal skills.

ATLAS is a weekend camp for teenagers from a refugee or newly migrated background. Activities and entertainment are designed with the aim to help participants build self-confidence, share in cultural exchange, make new friends, try new experiences and create a sense of belonging and identity to help participants adjust to a new life in Australia. The program also promotes mutual understanding amongst multicultural youth and volunteer staff.

Be Deadly

Be Deadly @ Somers is an opportunity to support young indigenous people in the development of cultural identity, confidence and leadership. It provides a great chance for these students to be involved in positive two way community engagement, develop a peer support network along with new friendships and to enhance self-confidence and resilience.

Power House Thespian Guild

A vibrant theatre and creative arts program which aims to promote theatre as a means of nurturing a creative and connected community and achieving personal growth as well as building the capacity of people to produce and stage high quality theatre productions.

Mirabel Family Camp

In  partnership with the Mirabel Foundation, we give children and families, impacted by drug and substance abuse, a fun weekend away. Our volunteers entertain children with energetic and fun activities while simultaneously providing a relaxing weekend of pampering for carers (commonly grandparents).

Camp Diversity

Camp Diversity is a fun weekend camp for young people living with intellectual and physical disabilities. Our enthusiastic volunteers run a jam-packed weekend of activities, new experiences and entertainment that aims to help participants build friendships, self-confidence and peer networks.
