Committee Member Opportunity: Communications Committee

Time Commitment:

  • Monthly Zoom meetings and occasional in person
  • Additional time for input, writing, and reviewing as needed for campaigns (e.g., annual report, business cases)
  • Ongoing involvement with “always on” social media accounts

Responsibilities: As a Communications Committee Member, you will play a crucial role in conveying the mission and impact of Lord Somers Camp and Power House to both members and external audiences.

For Members:

  1. Keep members informed about current programs.
  2. Highlight future plans and organisational strategy.

For External Audiences:

  1. Communicate our vision effectively.
  2. Showcase achievements for grant applications.
  3. Encourage and guide individuals on how to get involved with our initiatives.

Key Duties:

  • Attend monthly Zoom meetings to discuss and plan communication strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of various campaigns, including the annual report and business cases for programs.
  • Maintain and engage with the organisation’s social media accounts, ensuring “always on” communications.

Skills/Qualities:

  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Passion for community service and charity work.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
